The Questing Beast 180px-Beastglatisant1.jpg
By Ethan Stanley The Questing Beast or sometimes called the Barking Beast has the head and neck of a serpeant, the body of a leopard, the haunches of a lion, and the feet of a hart. The Questing Beast was the subject of many quests in Arthurian Legend, including many of the quests by Sir Pellinore, Sir Palamedes, and Sir Percival. The first mention of the Questing Beast is in one of King Arthur's dreams. Arthur had followed a deer far away from his home hunting and layed down to rest and fell asleep. When Arthur woke he recounted his dream about a horrible beast who just by drinking water from a lake poisoned it black. When Arthur looked at the lake near him however he could barely stand the smell and look of the lake. It is then known the beasts despicable origins and the quest Sir Pellinore must face. The only way to hunt the beast was to follow the trail of black lakes the beast left to quench it's bottomless thirst. Despite this version in another version the beast is a white creature even smaller than a fox. Sources: Wikipedia, Sacred Texts, Montague Millenium., Pantheon. org.
